6:30 pm meet up/7:00 pm show time
(more like 7:30 pm, but we all had meeting up & shopping to do?!)

Local Artisans set up...
stopped at Parish Ink table & that's all she wrote for me?!

(I couldn't resist--bought the Boudin shirt & the tiny gator tee & the che baby onsie too?! I'm supporting the local arts right...)

DJ Andre music w/his Apple (can you call that spinning?!)

Drop a quote in the tin box - to be used as the secret code for Pamplona's discount...
All you have to do is whisper it to the waiter at dinner after the film (or maybe it works w/the bartender too)

Tonight's secret code - drawn last film night...
"blue fox, this is red apple"

Drop a donation in the bucket - since even tho it's free, somebody is paying to show the film...
Seems to have been just Chrystal up until last night--but now hear tell there's a new sponsor in town?! Yeah?!

Thank you--The Black Sheep Couriers

(Note: would love a job with these guys, run around town making deliveries in my trusty old Volvo--even maybe get to wrap gifts, my fav thing to do--funny too that was just what I wanted to do as an at home biz back in the day stuck at home with my little boys...now they're gone, time to try these dreams on again?! hmmm...)

Prizes (no I didn't win?!)

one was a bag w/water bottle & a free adventure trip coupon from Pack 'n Paddle in it...
the other I've forgotten--since I didn't have the winning ticket for either prise, but am happy when I heard people who have been coming a long while & supporting The Station were indeed rewarded as winners instead so it's all good?!

Poetry...

A Supermarket in California
by Allen Ginsberg (born 1926)

What thoughts I have of you tonight, Wal Whitman, for I walked down the sidestreets under the trees with a headache self-conscious looking at the full moon.

In my hungry fatigue, and shopping for images, I went into the neon fruit supermakret, dreaming of your enumerations!

What peaces and what penumbras! Whole families shopping at night! Aisles full of husbands! Wives in the avacadoes, babies in the tomatoes! -- and you, Barcia Lorca, what were you doing down by the watermelons?

excerpt from Poems for Futher Reading
(in a very old English textbook of mine)
Literature: An Introduction to Fiction, Poetry, and Drama
(of all the places--Literature? if you'll keep in mind this poem went to court to bring up if it was indeed Literature or if it was just 'obsenity' in disguise?!)
Fifth Edition, X. J. Kennedy, Harper Collins Publishers c 1991

in the film Howl there are parts animated, from this book/artist/illustrator I think - which oddly enough I use to own...
(until a mad moving again heavy book clear out & trip to Half Price books, where they prob gave me 50 cents for it?!)

About the Strawberry Moon reference - as it was a full moon, a strawberry (June) moon...
read the Algonquin Indian tribe named it this, as it was strawberry season  & in Europe it was called the Rose Moon...
(I did not know each month the full moon has a name - July will be the Full Buck Moon... in the past I'd only heard of the Harvest Moon, which apparently is in October...)

link to Farmers' Almanac - full moons & their meanings...

I just thought how cool is that--am out watching Howl on a Full Moon, the Strawberry Moon?!
